Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO)

In 1993, two small Washington-based biotechnology
trade organizations merged to create the
Biotechnology Industry Organization. BIO
represents more than 1,000 biotechnology
companies, academic institutions, state
biotechnology centers and related organizations
in all 50 US states and 33 other nations.
BIO members are involved in the research
and development of health-care, agricultural,
industrial and environmental biotechnology
products. |
Bloomington Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce
is the largest and oldest business advocacy
association in Bloomington and Monroe County.
Members include both small and large businesses,
retailers, professionals, educators, service
providers, governmental units, manufacturers,
non-profit organizations and individuals.
They promote initiatives that strengthen
the business climate of their city, county,
region, and state; and they encourage active
participation in community leadership and
public service. They work to improve the

Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth)

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG)
is a trade association comprised of leaders
in the telecommunications, computing, automotive,
industrial automation and network industries
that is driving the development of Bluetooth
wireless technology, a low cost short-range
wireless specification for connecting mobile
devices and bringing them to market. The
Bluetooth SIG includes promoter member companies
Agere, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Microsoft,
Motorola, Nokia and Toshiba, and thousands
of Associate and Adopter member companies.

the commercial to the practical, such as
the 'Christmas Books' catalogue and carrier
bags, to the intangible but invaluable,
such as representation to Government and

Brazil United States Business Council

The Brazil-US Business Council is a private
sector organization focused on promoting
the free flow of trade and investment between
Brazil and the United States. With a US
Section representing the largest US investors
in Brazil and a Brazil Section managed by
the Brazilian National Confederation of
Industry, the Council has the ability to
forge consensus between the two private
sectors and communicate it to both governments
in a bilateral context. |

The British Chambers of Commerce comprise
a national network of quality-accredited
Chambers of Commerce, all uniquely positioned

in the UK and representing more than 135,000
businesses of all sizes in all sectors of
the economy—equivalent to five million jobs.
The BCC represents the views and priorities
as reflected across the chamber network
and undertakes proactive pieces of research
and policy development and responds to Government

British Venture Capital Association (BVCA)

BVCA has around 165 members. This represents
the vast majority of UK based private equity
and venture capital firms. Those 165 firms
are invested in over 11,000 companies, who
between them employ nearly 3 million people.
That is equivalent to some 18% of the private
sector workforce. Their industry invests
in every sector of the economy across all
regions of the country. The UK accounts
for some 40% of the whole of the European
market and on the world stage they are second
only in size to the United States. |
Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association
(BCFM)

The Broadcast Cable Financial Management
Association provides education, networking,
information, and signature products to meet
the diverse needs of financial and business
professionals in the broadcast, cable, and
electronic media industries throughout the
US and Canada. BCFM’s Broadcast Cable Credit
Association subsidiary provides revenue

Broadcast Education Association (BEA)
Offices: Washington, DC
The Broadcast Education Association is the
professional association for professors,
industry professionals and graduate students
who are interested in teaching and research
related to electronic media and multimedia
enterprises. There are currently more than
1,400 individual and institutional members.
In 2005, BEA celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The BEA has been responding to broadcast
education since 1955 and they celebrate
this major milestone in their history. |
