Internet2 Consortium (I2)

I2 is a consortium being led by 202 universities
working in partnership with industry and
government to develop and deploy advanced
network applications and technologies, accelerating
the creation of tomorrow's Internet. Internet2
is recreating the partnership among academia,
industry and government that fostered today's
Internet in its infancy. The primary goals
of Internet2 are to: create a leading edge
network capability for the national research
community, enable revolutionary Internet
applications, and insure the rapid transfer
of new network services and applications
to the broader Internet community. |
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names
& Numbers (ICANN)
Offices: Marina del Rey, California
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names
and Numbers (ICANN) is an internationally
organized, non-profit corporation that has
responsibility for Internet Protocol (IP)
address space allocation, protocol identifier
assignment, generic (gTLD) and country code
(ccTLD) Top-Level Domain name system management,
and root server system management functions.
These services were originally performed
under U.S. Government contract by the Internet
Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) and other
entities. ICANN now performs the IANA function. |
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
Offices: Washington, DC
IETE is a large open international community
of network designers, operators, vendors,
and researchers concerned with the evolution
of the Internet architecture and the smooth
operation of the Internet. It is open to
any interested individual. The actual technical
work of the IETF is done in its working
groups, which are organized by topic into
several areas (e.g., routing, transport,
security, etc.). Much of the work is handled
via mailing lists. |
Internet Protocol Detail Record Organization
(IPDR.org)
Offices: Pittstown, Pennsylvania
IPDR is an open consortium of leading service
providers, equipment vendors, system integrators,
and billing and mediation vendors collaborating
to facilitate the exchange of usage and
control data between network and hosting
elements and operations and business support
systems by deployment of IPDR standards.
It aims to reduce the time and cost of usage
measurement and exchange for next generation
services. |
Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA)
Offices: London, England
The Internet Services Providers' Association
is the UK's Trade Association for providers
of Internet services. ISPA UK was established
in 1995 and promotes competition, self-regulation
and the development of the Internet industry.
ISPA's main activity is in making representations
on behalf of the industry to government
bodies, such as the Home Office, the Department
of Trade and Industry and Oftel. Government
and political representatives often approach
ISPA for its knowledge and expertise. |
Internet Society (ISOC)
Offices: Reston, Virginia & Geneva,
Switzerland
The Internet SOCiety is a professional membership
society with more than 100 organizations
and over 20,000 individual members in over
180 countries. It provides leadership in
addressing issues that confront the future
of the Internet, and is the organization
home for the groups responsible for Internet
infrastructure standards, including the
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and
the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) whose
representatives often approach ISPA for
its knowledge and expertise. |

Invest In France Agency (IFA)
Offices: Paris, France
In France as in other European countries,
attracting international investment involves
a wide range of partners. For this reason
the Invest In France Agency relies on a
network of local and national, public and
private partners: cooperation between the
various partners is extremely important
for our agency. IFA provides assistance
at every stage of the investment process.
IFA works closely with 22 French regions
to act as your main contact, providing legal
and tax advice, help during the set up process
and after-care service. |
Iowa Business Council (IBC)

The Iowa Business Council means business—hands-on
leadership and active involvement are key
to the success of any business. The Iowa
Business Council expects members to play
an active role in organizational activities
and meetings. The leaders of the businesses
making up the Iowa Business Council gather
at least quarterly to plan, prioritize and
take action to improve the environment for
business in Iowa. In addition to the Council
members themselves, each member designates
an executive to serve as his/her deputy
on a special Deputy Committee that is charged
with uniting the resources of the member
businesses to bring Iowa Business Council
ideas to life. |
Iowa Retail Federation (IRF)
Offices: Urbandale, Iowa
The Iowa Retail Federation ensures a retail
voice for Iowa that is united and strong.
As a business, members can depend on the
Iowa Retail Federation to help protect their
interests in Iowa. Today, Congress is giving
more power to state and local governments.
This means that state actions increasingly
impact the bottom line. The association
provides a variety of valuable services
to help member retailers. Many members participate
in this cost-savings program. |
Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA)
Offices: Dublin, Ireland
IVCA is the representative body of the venture
capital industry in the Republic of Ireland
and Northern Ireland. The association was
established in 1985 to represent the views
of its members and to promote the Irish
venture capital industry. They seek to encourage
co-operation and best practices within the
industry and to facilitate those seeking
venture capital. |

Irvine Chamber of Commerce
Offices: Irvine, California
The establishment of the Irvine Chamber
of Commerce was the result of dedication
and hard work of dozens of people. Tracing
the history of this organization takes them
back to 1978. The Irvine City Council was
considering an ordinance that would have
regulated access to local shopping centers
by petitioners and private organizations
raising funds. As the chamber celebrates
its 26th Anniversary, current membership
stands at 1,000. The chamber's continued
success has played an important part in
creating an attractive environment for major
companies who now make Irvine their home. |

IVA was founded in 1996 and is the representative
association for the Israeli Venture Capital
Industry. IVA's objective is to promote
and stimulate venture capital activities

contacts for the benefit of investors and
entrepreneurs active in the Israeli market.
IVA membership now exceeds 150 Israel-based
or Israel-oriented VC's, investment and
holding companies, investment banks, service
providers, CPA firms, and law firms. |
Italy America Chamber of Commerce (IACC)

The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce is
a private, not-for-profit, membership organization
that represents the interests of companies
that have, or that are interested in establishing
business and commercial relations between
the United States and Italy. The IACC brings
