Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT)

DECT Forum is the globally acting industry association embracing suppliers and operators of DECT based terminals, systems, and networks. DECT denotes a radio technology suited for voice data and networking applications with range requirements up to a few 100m. DECT  is a short-range radio technology for voice and data applications, standardized by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), which is available in more than 100 countries world-wide. Over 200 different DECT products are available across the globe, ranging from cordless telephones, wireless local loop, data networking and  multimedia products.
DSL Forum
Offices: Freemont, California
The DSL Forum is an international industry consortium of nearly 200 leading service providers, equipment manufacturers and other interested parties, focused on developing the full potential of broadband DSL to meet the needs of the mass market. With the established goal of 200 million customers by 2005, the DSL Forum works to streamline processes, develop specifications and share best practices that set the stage for effective deployments, and explosive global DSL growth. By developing new standards and embracing new applications, the DSL Forum is tailoring DSL to meet the needs of the next generation of multi-media services and the online community.

Eastern Rural Telecom Association (ERTA)
Offices: Madison, Wisconsin
ERTA will provide expertise to the member companies through dissemination of pertinent Technological information as well as seminars and special activities as required, in all matters concerning loans, special project requirements, and financing in general. ERTA develops engineering courses and arranges for them to be presented to company representatives. Also, if requested, ERTA coordinates the Association's education activities with other educational programs and institutions.
Enhanced Wireless Consortium (EWC)
Offices: San Jose, California
The Enhanced Wireless consortium was formed to help accelerate the IEEE 802.11n development process and promote a technology specification for interoperability of next-generation wireless local area networking (WLAN) products. Members of the EWC will continue to work within the IEEE Task Group "NO" to facilitate a ratified 802.11n standard. Its specification includes many elements of previous proposals, which will accelerate the completion of a merged proposal draft within a the official IEEE timeline.
European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA)

European Telecommunications Informatics Services (ETIS)

ETIS is a non-profit organization founded by 24 Major European Public Telecommunications Operators. The mission of ETIS is to enable telecommunications service providers to improve their business performance by using information technology effectively. It brings together telecommunications operators, suppliers and content providers on key information and communications technology issues and facilitates cooperation among them.
European Telecommunications Network Operators (ETNO)

ETNO, the voice in Brussels of Europe’s telecoms and electronic communications operators, has been at the forefront of policy and regulatory affairs in telecommunications since 1992. Their membership—41 of Europe’s largest and most established telecoms groups in 34 countries—forms the backbone of the industry. It makes ETNO the primary policy link between EU institutions and European telecommunications companies. Drawing on a vast range of national and international expertise, they help shape EU telecoms policy and proposals to meet the needs of industry.

Florida Telecommunications Association (FTA)

The mission of the Florida Telecommunications Association is to represent its members and promote the telecommunications industry by providing value to the companies and consumers. Members participate in the framing of regulatory and legislative policy and position statements. They also have opportunities to actively participate in Association activities through membership on committees, task forces and the Board of Directors.

Georgia Telephone Association (GTA)
Offices: Atlanta, Georgia
The Georgia Telephone Association was established by its core members to provide a vehicle through which their interests could be represented in legislative, regulatory and public arenas. In addition, the Association provides a forum within which the members can share and exchange information. The Active members of GTA are comprised of Georgia's incumbent independent local exchange carriers also defined as Tier 2 companies in Georgia's Telecom Act of 1995.
GSM Association (GSMA)

Founded in 1987, the GSM Association has played a pivotal role in the development of the GSM platform and of the global wireless industry. Since its introduction their members and staff have created the landscape of success for global mobile communications via GSM. Illinois Telecommunications Association (ITA)

Indiana Telecommunications Association (ITA)
Offices: Indianapolis, Indiana
The Indiana Telecommunications Association, the definitive voice for the telecommunications industry in Indiana, serves the needs of all telecommunications companies. The ITA is a center for dialogue between telecommunications providers, a laboratory for creating public policy on communications issues, and an advocate for the industry at the Indiana legislature, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and on Capitol Hill. They provide informational meetings and forums where members learn about issues affecting the industry and develop contacts.
International Communications Industry Association (ICIA)
Offices: Fairfax, Virginia
ICIA serves its worldwide membership and the AV communications industry as the pre-eminent provider of education, exhibitions, and information services to enhance their ability to conduct business successfully, profitably and competently. ICIA’s membership is made up of over 3,000 companies and individuals located in 56 countries, representing tens of thousands of AV communications professionals. ICIA presents value to its members as an industry-wide non-competitive entity.
International Telecom Union (ITU)
Offices: Geneva, Switzerland
ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technologies. As the global focal point for governments and the private sector, ITU's role in helping the world communicate spans 3 core sectors: radiocommunication, standardization and development. ITU also organizes telecom events and was the lead organizing agency of the World Summit on the Information Society.
