Community Enterprise Operating System (CentOS)

The CentOS Project is the name of the Organization
that produces CentOS. CentOS users as a
group are a community of open source contributors
and users. Typical CentOS users are organizations
and individuals that do not need strong
commercial support in order to achieve successful
operation. CentOS 2, 3, and 4 are built
from publically available open source SRPMS
provided by a prominent North American Enterprise
Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with
the upstream vendors redistribution policies
and aims to be 100% binary compatible.

(CCIA)

CCIA has a mission to further their members'
business interests by being the leading
industry advocate in promoting open, barrier-free

worldwide. CCIA is a nonprofit membership

The EDA Consortium represents 100 companies
in the $4 billion Electronic Design Automation
industry. Unlike other high tech industry
categories, the EDA industry has been extremely
stable, and only experienced one year of
minor decline (4% in 2002), which was the
first in its 18-year history. In addition,
their last industry tracking reports show
that EDA industry revenue was up 3% for
2003. EDA employs over 20,000 people and
more than 500,000 people use its tools and

Free Standards Group (FSG)

The Free Standards Group is an independent,
nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating
the use of free and open source software
by developing and promoting standards. Key
Free Standards Group projects include the
Linux Standard Base (LSB), and OpenI18N,
the internationalization initiative. Supported
by leaders in the IT industry as well as
the open source development community, the
Free Standards Group fulfills a critical
need to have common behavioral specifications,
