Community Enterprise Operating System (CentOS)

The CentOS Project is the name of the Organization that produces CentOS. CentOS users as a group are a community of open source contributors and users. Typical CentOS users are organizations and individuals that do not need strong commercial support in order to achieve successful operation. CentOS 2, 3, and 4 are built from publically available open source SRPMS provided by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policies and aims to be 100% binary compatible.
Computers & Communications Industry Association (CCIA)

CCIA has a mission to further their members' business interests by being the leading industry advocate in promoting open, barrier-free competition in the offering of computer and communications products and services worldwide. CCIA is a nonprofit membership organization for companies and senior executives from diverse sectors of the computer and communications industry. CCIA was established nearly three decades ago to represent their members’ vital interests, especially the need to promote competitive and fair open markets, open systems, and open networks.
Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)

With more than 19,000 members in 89 countries, CompTIA is the leading global IT trade association with influence in all areas of the IT industry worldwide. Distributed Computing Industry Association (DCIA)

The DCIA is a voluntary, consensus organization with representation from all substantially affected sectors of the nascent distributed computing industry. This includes companies involved in providing the platforms for storage, transmission, and exhibition of content, file-sharing networks and operators, and digital media rights holders. DCIA participants are engaged in the development and adoption of business and technical standards-and-practices to advance the commercial development of this rapidly growing consumer-based distribution system.

EDA Consortium

The EDA Consortium represents 100 companies in the $4 billion Electronic Design Automation industry. Unlike other high tech industry categories, the EDA industry has been extremely stable, and only experienced one year of minor decline (4% in 2002), which was the first in its 18-year history. In addition, their last industry tracking reports show that EDA industry revenue was up 3% for 2003. EDA employs over 20,000 people and more than 500,000 people use its tools and services.

Free Standards Group (FSG)

The Free Standards Group is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the use of free and open source software by developing and promoting standards. Key Free Standards Group projects include the Linux Standard Base (LSB), and OpenI18N, the internationalization initiative. Supported by leaders in the IT industry as well as the open source development community, the Free Standards Group fulfills a critical need to have common behavioral specifications, tools and ABIs across Linux platforms.
