Kansas Telecommunications Industry Association (KTIA)

Founded in 1900 as the Kansas Independent Telephone Association, the organization represented rural telephone companies whose operators provided customers with service from switchboards in the living rooms of their own homes. The purpose and objective of the Association is to further the highest and best interest of telecommunications companies engaged in the telecommunications industry and the public they serve, service and products to support the telecommunications industry.
Kentucky Telephone Association (KTA)
Offices: Lexington, Kentucky
The Kentucky Telephone Association (KTA) is the leading state trade association supporting and promoting the telecommunications industry in the Commonwealth. Membership is open to all telecom companies operating in the Commonwealth as well as manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of communications equipment and materials. KTA has served the industry by fostering communication and cooperation among its member companies to improve their services and products.

Louisiana Telecommunications Associations (LTA)
Offices: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Most independent telephone companies began as family organizations, often including a few friends.  The companies had their beginnings in an effort to provide service where none existed, and Louisiana was no exception. In 1947 there were 35 telephone companies; small ones, middle-size ones, and bigger ones, all part of the telephone network. It soon became apparent that the companies needed to form an associationthe Louisiana Telecommunications Associations was chartered.

Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF)
Offices: Los Angeles, California
The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) is a global industry alliance comprising of approximately 70 organizations including telecommunications service providers, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations. The MEF’s mission is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of Carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. The MEF develops Carrier Ethernet technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.
Minnesota Telecom Alliance (MTA)
Offices: St Paul, Minnesota
Minnesota Telecom Alliance is a trade association that advocates and represents the interests of over 100 small, medium and large telecommunications companies that provide advanced voice, data, high-speed Internet and wireless communications services before Minnesota’s legislators, regulators and the general public. With over 400 members, the MTA actively advocates and represents the interests of Minnesota's telecom industry.
Missouri Telecommunications Industry Association (MTIA)
Offices: Jefferson City, Missouri
MTIA reflects the value and success of providing a forum for discussion and cooperation among all companies on issues affecting Missouri's telecommunications industry. In addition to the work of the association's various committees, MTIA sponsors seminars, workshops and meetings to educate members on critical industry issues, showcase emerging technology and provide professional training opportunities.
Mobile Data Association (MDA)
Offices: London, England
MDA was established in 1994 to increase awareness of mobile data amongst users and their advisers. Over the past eight years, the Association has grown to become the forum for the international mobile data community. As well as providing a focal point for industry participants to meet and share information on technical and business issues, the MDA actively works to promote the uses and benefits of wireless value added services through industry and business press; conferences; seminars and the maintenance of a web site.
Mobile Payment Forum (MPF)
Offices: Wakefield, Massachusetts
MPF is a cross-industry organization launched in November 2001 to create a framework for standardized, secure and authenticated mobile payments based on payment card accounts. It aims to quickly and efficiently bridge between the mobile and financial industries in order to accelerate the maturity of the mobile marketplace.
Montana Telecommunications Association (MTA)
Offices: Helena, Montana
Montana Telecommunications Association provides government affairs, communications, training and education, trade shows and related services to independent telecommunications service providers throughout Montana. MTA member companies provide local residential and business phone services, as well as a full-spectrum of other telecommunications services including broadband and dial-up Internet; wireless services; satellite TV, competitive local exchange services and long distance.
