Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF)

The Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival was established in 1981 and features more than 260 films, documentaries, shorts and animations, representing over 40 countries. The festival is dedicated to advancing understanding and cultural exchange among the peoples of Asia, the Pacific, and North America through the medium of film. HIFF is considered one of the world’s premiere film events ideally positioned two months before The Academy Awards.
Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films
Location: Palm Springs, California

The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films and Film Market, the largest short film festival and market in North America, screens over 350 short films with a concurrent Film Market facility featuring over 2,400 shorts. An Academy® sanctioned Festival, over the past 10 years, 50 of the short films nominated for Academy Awards® have been screened at the Festival prior to receiving their nominations. The Festival offers 20 awards in ten different categories, featuring cash prizes and/or film stock.
Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF)
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Dates: August TBD, 2009
The Rhode Island International Film Festival™ will be screening more than 175 films and videos over six days. The Festival will be a visual and auditory feast for film enthusiasts and moviegoers alike. RIIFF select films will be screened throughout the state of Rhode Island at festival partner locations. The RIIFF (a production of the non-profit Flickers Arts Collaborative) presents year-round programming that celebrates the culture and art of the moving image through filmmaking and film-going experiences.
Telluride Film Festival (TFF)
Location: Telluride, Colorado

The Telluride Film Festival is presented by the National Film Preserve, a non profit arts and education organization celebrating the art of film. Held every Labor Day Weekend for 32 years in a beautiful Victorian mining town surrounded by 13,000 feet peaks, the Telluride Film Festival is a major showcase for the best in cinema. Its loyal and affluent passholders attend without knowing in advance what films will be shown or which famed artists they will encounter on the streets of Telluride, as the program is kept secret until opening day.
