Arrick Robotics
Offices: Tyler, Texas
The first product offered was the MD-2 motor
control system which was a subsystem of
a robot arm that was being developed. In
the mid-90's, Roger decided that there was
a small market for mobile robots and the
first Trilobot was designed. These were
mainly sold to Universities for research
projects. In the late 90's Roger developed
ARobot which is a lower-cost robot intended
for hobbyists and educators. Arrick Robotics
remains a small company based in Texas where
all products are designed and built.

ASIMO
Offices: Tokyo, Japan
Honda began its humanoid robotics program
in 1986. Honda’s—and the world’s—first self-regulating,
bipedal (two-legged) humanoid robot, named
P2, debuted in December 1996. P3, the first
completely independent, bipedal humanoid
walking robot, was completed in September
1997. P3 was 5’2” tall and weighed 286 pounds.
The development of ASIMO began around the
summer of 1999. ASIMO was completed October
31, 2000 and is the most advanced humanoid
robot ever created. |
