for the Salt Lake City market. Their reporters
have good live reporting skills, sound newsgathering

appeal. The station has the ability to organize
a well-paced, journalistically sound, entertaining

Fox 17 (WXMI)
Offices: Grand Rapids, Michigan
In March 1982, WWMA-TV went on air. In February
1983, a group of additional shareholders
bought control of the station effective
April 1, 1983. On August 15, 1983, the call
letters changed to WXMI. In May 1989, a
New York-based company headed by Robert
Dudley purchased the stock of WXMI. In 1987,
WXMI signed an affiliation agreement with
the FOX Broadcasting Company, making WXMI
a charter FOX television station. In June
1998, Emmis Broadcasting Company purchased
the stock of WXMI. Emmis then traded WXMI
to Tribune Broadcasting Company. |

Fox 19 (WXIX)
Offices: Cincinnati, Ohio
In August 1968, WXIX-TV, Channel 19 became
Cincinnati's first independent television
station. The first local station to broadcast
in stereo, 19XIX celebrated another first
when it changed to Fox19 and became a charter
affiliate of the "fourth network" in October
1986. Seven years later, Cincinnati's first
and only Ten O'Clock News premiered and
was so successful, it expanded to an hour
in January 1996. Fox19 ownership has only
changed hands three times in its Overview,
including the September 1998 sale to Raycom
Media. |

21 (KXRM)
Offices: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Barrington has acquired KXRM part of the
acquisition from Raycom Media in August
of 2006. KXRM is a full power UHF station
that began broadcasting in 1985 and became
affiliated with the FOX network in 1987.
KXRM, which was the one of the first broadcasters
in the market to go fully digital, broadcasts
its analog signal on channel 21 and its
full power digital signal on channel 22.
The station can also be seen on both DirecTV
and EchoStars DISH Network. |

Fox 26 (KRIV)
Offices: Houston, Texas
KVRL debuted on August, 15, 1971 as an independent
station. In 1978–after a brief stint as
KDOG–the station was purchased by Metromedia
and its call signs was changed to KRIV.
In 1986, Fox purchased several Metromedia
owned TV stations throughout the country,
including Houston’s KRIV. From then on,
the station became known as FOX 26. Today,
FOX 26 has the only four-hour local morning
newscast in Houston, a half-hour noon newscast,
and the No. 1 hour-long newscast at 9 p.m.
In all, the station provides 30 hours of
local news a week. |

in 1987, which they remain today. |

Fox 28 is the Fox affiliate for the Columbus
market and is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast
Group. Fox 28 is a combination station with
its sister ABC 6 (WSYX). They have skilled

well written and visually compelling newscasts.
The goal of their internship program is
to recruit candidates, primarily juniors
and seniors, from colleges and prepare them
for entry-level jobs within the broadcast
