KJRH has an impressive list of "firsts" in the Tulsa area: first television
station in Tulsa to broadcast in color, first to broadcast in stereo, first
to hire an accredited meteorologist and implement Doppler radar, first to
broadcast a news story from a remote site and first to hire a female news
director. Over the past several years, the station has consistently received
recognition for its effort in the form of various awards. They are the NBC
affiliate for the Tulsa market. |

In August 1954, a license was issued to WGR Corporation. WGR soon became
Transcontinent Television Corporation headquartered in Buffalo. Transcontinent
was acquired by the Taft Broadcasting Company of Cincinnati in 1964. In
May 1983, WGR was acquired by General Cinema Company of Boston. The letter
Z was added to the station identification. Gannett bought the station in
January 1997. Channel 2 is the NBC affiliate for the Buffalo market. |

WISC-TV, Channel 3, went on air June 24, 1956. WISC, a CBS affiliate station,
is a member of the family of Morgan Murphy Stations, the broadcast division
of the Evening Telegram Company of Superior, Wisconsin. Although now there's
plenty of network programming available from CBS, WISC-TV still produces
several of its own programs. As WISC-TV continues to evolve into the premier
news source for the 21st century, it will continue to make improvements

Offices: Cleveland, Ohio
WKYC (then WNBK), an NBC owned-and-operated station, went on the air Halloween
night, 1948. The station’s success continued as it began broadcasting one
of the country’s first half-hour local newscasts in 1959, was the first
Cleveland station to broadcast in all-color in 1965 and the first to broadcast
in HDTV in 1999. NBC sold a controlling share of the station to Multimedia
in 1990. In November 1995, WKYC-TV became a part of Gannett Broadcasting.

On May 6, 1956, Channel 3 signed on in Chattanooga as NBC affiliate WRGP-TV.
Ziff Corporation bought WRCB from Rust Craft in May of 1978. In 1982, Ziff
Corporation sold the station to Sarkes Tarzian, which owns it today. The
current management team represents years of television experience and a
firm commitment to serve local residents. The top priority at Channel 3
is to provide its viewers with the best local news and weather coverage.
