NBC 11 (KNTV)
Offices: San Jose, California
NBC acquired KNTV in spring 2002 for $230
million and has been building the station,
a former independent serving Monterey-Salinas,
into its Bay Area outlet. The station juggles
news coverage across the market and balances
the public-affairs initiatives it sponsors.
NBC 11 is the NBC affiliate for the Bay
Area market. The NBC Owned Stations are
leaders in their markets because of their
aggressive promotion strategy, solid news
reputation and proactive community outreach. |
NBC 12 (WTLV)
Offices: Jacksonville, Florida
WTLV was the first television station in
the country designed for color broadcasting.
Other highlights: The station donated money,
manpower, tower space and transmitting facilities
to enable Jacksonville’s only educational
station, now a PBS station, to become a
reality. It provided full coverage of the
USA’s fledgling space program at Cape Canaveral
for all three national networks, and became
NBC’s exclusive station for space coverage.
In 1993, WTLV became the official station
of the NFL’s newest franchise, the Jacksonville
Jaguars. |
NBC 12 (WWBT)
Offices: Richmond, Virginia
What would become NBC 12 signed on the air
on Sunday, April 29, 1956. At the time it
was WRVA-TV and it was a CBS affiliate.
Over the years that followed, the station
was affiliated with CBS, ABC and finally
NBC. NBC12 is central Virginia's leading
television station. Year after year, NBC12
offers comprehensive, timely, accurate news
coverage that hundreds of thousands of viewers
rely on. They are the NBC affiliate for
the the Richmond market. |
NBC 13 (WVTM)
Offices: Birmingham, Alabama
In May 1949 channel 13 became the first
television station for Birmingham, and the
state of Alabama. Beginning as an ABC and
CBS affiliate it slowly moved over to become
an NBC affiliate. In 1980 is was sold to
Times Mirror Broadcasting where the station
was renamed WVTM and took the call sign
NBC 13. Today, WVTM-TV, NBC 13, broadcasts
more than 35 hours of local news programming
every week. |

NBC 24 (WNWO)
Offices: Toledo, Ohio
Barrington has acquired WNWO as part of
the acquisition from Raycom in August of
2006. WNWO is a full power UHF station that
began broadcasting in 1966 as the flagship
of the Overmeyer Network. It became an independent
in 1967, was affiliated with ABC in 1970
through 1995, when it became an NBC affiliate.
WNWO provides balanced news coverage from
the region, the nation and the world.

NBC 26 (WGBA)
Offices: Green Bay, Wisconsin
NBC 26 is the newest television station
of the Journal Broadcast Group. The station
serves the Green Bay/Appleton broadcast
market in Northeastern Wisconsin. WGBA continues
to add to its local news offerings. The
station seeks to build interesting programs
that inform viewers across the region. In
addition to local news, NBC 26 offers some
of the best daytime and prime time programming
available on broadcast television. |
NBC 30 (WVIT)
Offices: West Hartford, Connecticut
WVIT is an NBC owned and operated television
station. As such they posses an aggressive
promotion strategy, a solid news reputation
and perform proactive community outreach.
They seek to attract upscale, educated and
ethnically diverse customers. They also
boast one of the most experienced and talented
staffs in the Hartford area. |
NBC NewsChannel 4 (WNBC)
Offices: New York, New York
NewsChannel 4 signed on the air as WNBT
on July 1, 1941, at 1:29 p.m. This historic
event was the beginning of commercial television
in the United States. For the first six
months, WNBT remained the country's only
commercial television station. In October
of 1948, WNBT's operations were integrated
with those of WNBC Radio. WNBC became the
NBC flagship television station, responsible
for programming its own local time. WNBC-TV
became WNBC with the network's sale of NBC
Radio. |
