News 2 (WFMY)
Offices: Greensboro, North Carolina
WFMY got its start as an FM radio station
in 1948. At the time, there were only 66
commercial FM stations operating in the
US A year later, when an estimated 1,200
homes out of 226,500 in the Greensboro market
had a TV set, the station aired its first
live TV broadcast. That Aug. 18 newscast
lasted 4 minutes, 25 seconds. Until October
1950, approximately 40 percent of all WFMY-TV’s
program time originated ‘‘live’’ from WFMY’s
studios. |
News 2 (WKRN)
Offices: Nashville, Tennessee
WKRN-TV began operation on Sunday, November
29, 1953 at 1:00 p.m., as only the second
television station in Nashville. The station's
call letters and channel number were WSIX-TV
Channel 8. It was a CBS affiliate with supplemental
affiliations with American Broadcasting
Company and the DuMont Television Network.
In late 1954, it became a full time ABC
affiliate and continues that affiliation
today. |
News 3 (KVBC)
Offices: Las Vegas, Nevada
News 3 is the NBC affiliate of the Las Vegas
market and is owned and operated by Sunbelt
Communications Company. Employing approximately
540 people, Sunbelt Communications Company
distinguishes itself in all markets with
a strong local news presence. The capability
of broad regional news coverage is handled
through sharing of information and direct
satellite feeds. |
News 3 (WBTV)

News 3 (WSAV)
Offices: Savannah, Georgia
WSAV radio first went on the air in 1939.
From the beginning, WSAV was an NBC radio
affiliate carrying the programs of Bob Hope
and many others in the "Golden Years" of
radio broadcasting. Television came to Savannah
in the fifties and WSAV-TV went on the air
in 1956. In the mid nineties WSAV television
changed hands several times. Media General
now owns the station. Technically and in
physical plant appearance, WSAV television
is in the best shape it has ever been.

News 3 (WWMT)
Offices: Kalamazoo, Michigan
WKZO-TV 3 debuts as West Michigan's CBS
affiliate on June 1, 1950. Through the 1950s
and 1960s, viewers enjoy a variety of local
live shows. Throughout the 1970s, WKZO and
"NewsActive 3" cover West Michigan events.
In 1985, John Fetzer sells the television
and radio stations and retires. The new
owners, Busse Broadcasting Corporation,
change the call letters from the traditional
WKZO to WWMT. |

News 4 Saint Louis (KMOV)
Offices: St Louis, Missouri
KMOV Channel 4 began broadcasting in St.
Louis as KWK-TV on July 8, 1954. Four years
later, CBS purchased the station and changed
its call letters to KMOX-TV. On May 16,
1986, Viacom International bought KWK-TV
from CBS. Because CBS retained the KMOX
call letters for the AM radio station it
still owned locally, a change in the Channel
4 call letters was necessary. KMOX-TV became
KMOV-TV. |
News 4 (WIVB)
Offices: Buffalo, New York
News 4 first broadcasted in 1946. News 4
is Western New York’s most watched newscast,
and wivb.com is one the area's most-visited
websites. WIVB-TV drives viewers to WIVB.com
for the latest local news, weather, sports
and consumer information. They currently
serve the Buffalo market as an affiliate
of CBS and is currently owned and operated
by LIN Television. |
News 4 (WOAI)
Offices: San Antonio, Texas
News 4 is the NBC affiliate for the San
Antonio market and is owned by Clear Channel
Broadcasting. They have and look for people
who are innovative
thinkers with the ability to dig and investigate

News 5 (WLWT)
Offices: Cincinnati, Ohio
On June 4, 1946, Crosley engineers transmitted
the first television broadcast in Cincinnati
from the W8XCT Carew Tower transmitter.
The FCC granted Crosley a commercial license
in January 1948, and W8XCT officially became
WLWT. In April, WLWT was named the first
NBC affiliate in the country, although the
station provided more than 40 hours of original,
Cincinnati-based programming each week.
By 1952, the station was the most prolific
independent producer of NBC network programming. |
