KSDK celebrated its 50th anniversary in
1997. When KSDK first hit the airwaves,
it was one of only seven stations in the
country. It was the only St. Louis TV station
until 1953. KSDK’s first live, color telecast
was in June 1956. The live, half-hour program,
which airs Monday through Friday at 3 p.m.,
has won its time period since its debut.
The station is one of the top rated NBC

station signed on, it was the first in Louisiana
and one of the first 50 television stations
