CW 50 (WKBD)
Offices: Detroit, Michigan
WKBD signed on the air in January of 1965
as an independent UHF television station.
WKBD is positioned near what is now the
population center of the Detroit Metropolitan
area. They have been the flagship station
for Detroit Pistons basketball and Detroit
Red Wings hockey for more than three decades.
WKBD is now part of the entertainment giant,
CBS, Inc., is part-owner of the CW network
of which WKBD is the Detroit affiliate.

CW 56 (WLVI)
Offices: Boston, Massachusetts
Channel 56, one of Boston's heritage UHF
stations, started operation on September
27, 1953, as WTAO-TV. In 1962, channel 56
was reactivated as WXHR-TV after being shut
down in 1956. In October of 1966, channel
56 was reactivated with color facilities
as WKBG-TV. In May of 1974, the call letters
were changed to WLVI and soon became an
affiliate of the fledgling WB network. It
is currently an affiliate of The CW. |
CW 57 (KXTU)
Offices: Colorado Springs, Colorado
KXTU is a low power station that broadcasts
from Cheyenne Mountain, which overlooks
Colorado Springs. Although the station is
housed and staffed alongside KXRM, it is
programmed and promoted as a separate station.
The station which began broadcasting in
November 1999. KXTU can be viewed throughout
the Colorado Springs DMA as it is carried
on all local cable systems in the market
and can also be seen on DirecTV. KXTU has
agreed to become a CW affiliate in September
2006. |
CW Atlanta (WUPA)
Offices: Atlanta, Georgia
CBS Televisions Stations Group (Formerly
Paramount Stations Group), a division of
CBS Inc., officially entered the Atlanta
market September 1, 1995, acquiring WVEU-TV
from BCG Communications, which held the
license since sign-on in 1981. On December
11, 1995 the call letters were changed to
reflect the new ownership and direction
for WUPA-TV. Starting in 2001, WUPA embarked
on a new localism strategy by branding the
station UPN Atlanta and developing local
programming. In 2006 WUPA became an affiliate
of The CW network. |

CWKYT (WKYT)
Offices: Lexington, Kentucky
CWKYT is a substation of the CBS affiliate
WKYT. CWKYT is currently an affiliate of
The CW network. WKYT-TV will be a community
leader, through the operation of a commercial
television station in the public interest,
by informing and entertaining their viewers
with high quality local news and entertainment
programming while providing services to
help their advertisers achieve financial
prosperity. |
CW Nebraska (KXVO)
Offices: Omaha, Nebraska
KXVO went on air in 1995 first as an independent
station, then as an affiliate of the WB
network, before finally joining The CW in
2006. The station while showing The CW lineup
also has a 10 o'clock news program. It is
in the 75th market serving 403,500 households
or roughly 984,000 people. They are owned
and operated by Pappas Telecasting Companies. |
CW Richmond (WUPV)
Offices: Richmond, Virginia
WUPV is the CW affiliate in Richmond, Virginia.
In 1990, WZXK Channel 65 signed on the air.
Early in 1995, the station signed on with
the fledgling WB network and changed its
call letters to WAWB. Lockwood purchased
the station in July of 1997 and immediately
changed network affiliation and call letters.
UPN Richmond, WUPV was born. On April 4,
2006, WUPV announced that the station would
become an affiliate of The CW Television
Network in September 2006. |
CW South Florida (WSFL)
Offices: Miami, Florida
WSFL-TV (CW South Florida) is Miami-Fort
Lauderdale's CW network affiliate, programming
a strong schedule of entertainment, local
news, and public affairs programming. WSFL-TV's
signal reaches 1,549,680 South Florida television
households representing nearly 4 million
people, with the majority of those people
in the Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.
WSFL-TV signed on the air in October 1982
as WDZL, an independent station. In 1995,
WDZL became South Florida's WB network affiliate.
In 2006 they became an affiliate of The
CW network. |
CW West Palm (WTVX)
Offices: West Palm Beach, Florida
WTVX, Channel 34, began its first broadcast
to the viewers of Fort Pierce, and the entire
Treasure Coast, and the rest of the West
Palm Beach television market on April 5th,
1966. A tradition of excellence in broadcasting
was begun that day, which is still being
followed as WTVX nears the completion of
four decades of service. In September 2005,
WTVX made the decision to carry only the
UPN Network, and Viacom created a separate
channel for the WB programs. Then in 2006
WTVX made the switch to the CW Network. |
