established in 1965 as the ninth campus in the University of California

UCLA Office of Intellectual Property was established at UCLA in 1990, and
reports to the Vice-Chancellor for Research as part of the Office of Research
Administration. They work with campus inventors to facilitate transfer of
technologies created at UCLA into the commercial sector for public use.
The scope of OIPA activities include: Commercially evaluating new technologies;
Determining patentability and commercial value; Prosecuting patents; Marketing
and licensing inventions; Negotiating license agreements and Material Transfer
Agreements; and Receiving and distributing royalties and other income to
the inventors, UCLA Campus and its Departments. |
