UC Office of Technology Alliance, located
on the campus of UC Irvine, was established
in 1965 as the ninth campus in the University
of California system and is the largest
research university in the world. The UC
system has 15,000 faculty researchers, carries
out $4 billion in research annually and
manages three Department of Energy National
Laboratories (Lawrence Livermore, Lawrence
Berkeley and Los Alamos). |
University of California Los Angeles Office
of Intellectual Property

UCLA Office of Intellectual Property was
established at UCLA in 1990, and reports
to the Vice-Chancellor for Research as part
of the Office of Research Administration.
They work with campus inventors to facilitate
transfer of technologies created at UCLA
into the commercial sector for public use.
The scope of OIPA activities include: Commercially
evaluating new technologies; Determining
patentability and commercial value; Prosecuting
patents; Marketing and licensing inventions;
Negotiating license agreements and Material
Transfer Agreements; and Receiving and distributing
royalties and other income to the inventors,
UCLA Campus and its Departments. |

TechTIPS is ideally positioned to manage

OTM works to ensure that UIC maintains its
reputation as a world class research institution
with an outstanding faculty. They rely on

business, and financial expertise to support
inventors and help partner companies develop
UIC technologies. OTM is dedicated to helping
companies license UIC technologies, and
they will assist with everything from sourcing
inventions to negotiating agreements, options,

(OTC) is the technology transfer office
at the University of Maryland College Park.
As an office within the Division of Research,
OTC facilitates the transfer of cutting-edge
technologies developed at the University
of Maryland as well as at smaller universities
in the University System of Maryland to
business and industry. OTC develops and
manages a high-quality portfolio of diverse
technologies, ensures intellectual property
rights through patents or copyrights and
negotiates and executes licensing agreements

University of Missouri Office of Technology
& Special Projects

The Office of Technology & Special Projects
(OTSP) was established in September 1999
as a partnership of the University of Missouri
System and its four campuses. Arising from
the former University Patents and Licensing
Office, the OTSP has more than doubled in
staff and budget and takes a more aggressive,
entrepreneurial and faculty- and industry-friendly
approach to commercialization of University
